Kandahar Warriors Squad 2026

Rashid Khan (Icon) leads. First pick overall: Muhammad Amir, then Mohammad Nabi and Kusal Perera. Coach Ravi Bopara.

Kandahar Warriors go into the first draft holding the two things every other camp wanted: Rashid Khan as captain, and the first pick in both the Platinum and Diamond rounds. Ravi Bopara is head coach. Irfan Pathan is mentor. The leadership was confirmed after the October leaders' draft. The pick order was confirmed after the APL Huddle, a pre-draft contest between the five leadership groups.

Rashid already has an APL chapter. In 2018 he captained Kabul Zwanan and was player of the series on the runner-up side. That was a different franchise in a tournament that then stopped. Kandahar Warriors do not start as defending champions of anything. Kandahar Knights finished fifth in 2018. This Warriors side is a new club wearing a familiar city.

Kandahar Warriors Fixtures 2026

Kandahar Warriors record

Played 0, won 0. Kandahar Warriors is a new franchise and starts the 2026 season with no APL record. The 2018 side from Kandahar was a different club; its results stay with that club.

The huddle result showed on draft day. Kandahar opened the Platinum round with Muhammad Amir, the first pick of the whole draft, and opened Diamond with Mohammad Nabi. Their second Diamond pick was England keeper-batter Joe Clarke.

The rest of the 19-man squad, as published by the ACB on 3 November 2026: Karim Janat, Kusal Perera and Tymal Mills among the Gold picks; Mohammad Shahzad, Dwaine Pretorius and George Munsey in Silver; three Emerging players and two Supplementary picks. Rashid, Nabi and Shahzad give the Warriors three of the best-known names from the 2018 season, though none of that season's numbers carry over to this club.
