Stats

APL stats and records

This page holds the APL numbers that are actually verified. The only finished season is 2018, played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium from 5 to 21 October 2018, 23 matches in all. The 2026 season starts on 27 December 2026, so there are no 2026 stats yet, and the leaderboards below will fill only once matches are played. Where a number was not in the source set, this page leaves it blank instead of estimating it.

2018 leaders

Five cards, five verified leaders, all from the single finished season. Each card opens its own list, where the limits of the source are stated in the open.

APL 2026 stats: not yet available

There is no 2026 stats list, because no 2026 match has been played. The first ball is on 27 December 2026, and the leaderboards for runs, wickets, highest scores and best bowling will appear here once matches produce them. Until then, the schedule shows what is planned, the live scores page is where match-day scorecards will land, and the points table stays empty for the same reason: nobody has played.

APL 2018 batting records

Mohammad Shahzad leads the only completed batting list. His 344 runs for Paktia Panthers sit 22 ahead of Hazratullah Zazai and 29 ahead of Chris Gayle, and the leader's team did not reach the final: Panthers lost their semi-final, while the trophy went to Balkh Legends. Two of the top five were local batters and three were overseas players.

Most runs, APL 2018
Rank Player Team Runs
1 Mohammad Shahzad Paktia Panthers 344
2 Hazratullah Zazai Kabul Zwanan 322
3 Chris Gayle Balkh Legends 315
4 Laurie Evans Kabul Zwanan 305
5 Ryan ten Doeschate Balkh Legends 274

The highest individual score of the season was Hazratullah Zazai's 124 against Nangarhar Leopards on 9 October 2018, made in a 144-run stand with Luke Ronchi. It was not a final innings: in the final two weeks later, Kabul Zwanan managed 132 for 9, with Javed Ahmadi's 32 the best of a poor batting hour, while Chris Gayle's 56 off 34 won the chase for Legends. The full lists are on the most runs page and the highest scores page.

APL 2018 bowling records

The confirmed top of the wickets list is one name, and that is a choice about sources, not a claim that nobody else bowled. Isuru Udana's 17 wickets for Paktia Panthers lead the tournament, and a fuller list will grow only from a scorecard archive, not from memory.

Most wickets, APL 2018
Rank Player Team Wickets
1 Isuru Udana Paktia Panthers 17

The best bowling figures quoted on this site are Qais Ahmad's 5 for 18 against Kabul Zwanan in the final on 21 October 2018, four overs that made him player of the match. Wayne Parnell's 3 for 35 in the same chase is the other final bowling line the record supports, and it belongs to the losing side. Udana's 17 wickets may include a better analysis than 5 for 18; if they do, it is not printed until the card is. See the most wickets page and the best bowling page.

APL 2018 team records

Every team record below comes from the same Sharjah month, and the gap between the highest and lowest totals is the real story of that season: five days apart, on the same ground, the league produced both 244 for 6 and 64 all out.

Team records, APL 2018
Record Detail
Highest total Balkh Legends 244/6 against Kabul Zwanan, 14 October 2018
Lowest total Nangarhar Leopards 64 all out (13.1 overs) against Balkh Legends, semi-final, 19 October 2018
Biggest win Balkh Legends beat Nangarhar Leopards by 171 runs, semi-final, 19 October 2018 (235/5 against 64)
Final Kabul Zwanan 132/9, Balkh Legends 138/6 (18.1 overs). Legends won by 4 wickets
Player of the series Rashid Khan, Kabul Zwanan
Player of the final Qais Ahmad, Balkh Legends

The APL records page holds the totals and stands behind them, and the results page carries all 23 scores from the season.

How stats on this page will update

After each 2026 match, the leaderboards on this page will fill from the match scorecard, starting with runs and wickets and then the single-innings lists. Two gaps stay open on purpose: the most-sixes list and the fastest fifty and fastest hundred marks have no verified count in the source set, because they need a ball count it did not give. They will appear only when a scorebook source supplies them. Nothing here is estimated in the meantime. The most sixes page states the gap in full.

Questions about APL stats

Why are there no APL 2026 stats yet?

No 2026 match has been played yet. The season starts with the first ball on 27 December 2026, and the leaderboards for runs, wickets, highest scores and best bowling will fill only once matches produce them.

Who scored the most runs in APL 2018?

Mohammad Shahzad, with 344 runs for Paktia Panthers, ahead of Hazratullah Zazai with 322 and Chris Gayle with 315. The full top five is on the most runs page.

Who took the most wickets in APL 2018?

Isuru Udana, with 17 wickets for Paktia Panthers. The confirmed list stops at the leader because a fuller bowling list was not clean enough in the source set, so it is not printed.

Why is there no most-sixes list?

No verified six count was in the source set used for this site. A six is a counting stat that needs a scorebook, not an estimate, so the list stays blank until a scorebook source supplies it.
