APL records
One finished season, one short record book. Every mark below was checked on a 2018 scorecard, and the marks the source set cannot support are left out rather than estimated. The 2026 season starts on 27 December 2026 in the UAE, and the first new entries land here once matches are played.
Batting records
The runs table is the fullest on this page, because the 2018 scorecards give complete batting totals. Shahzad's 344 leads Zazai by 22 runs and Gayle by 29, and two of the top five batted for Kabul Zwanan. The full list sits on the most-runs page.
Most runs in 2018
| Rank | Batter | Team | Runs |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mohammad Shahzad | Paktia Panthers | 344 |
| 2 | Hazratullah Zazai | Kabul Zwanan | 322 |
| 3 | Chris Gayle | Balkh Legends | 315 |
| 4 | Laurie Evans | Kabul Zwanan | 305 |
| 5 | Ryan ten Doeschate | Balkh Legends | 274 |
Highest innings and stand
| Record | Detail |
|---|---|
| Highest individual score | Hazratullah Zazai 124 vs Nangarhar Leopards, 9 October 2018 |
| Highest partnership | Luke Ronchi and Hazratullah Zazai, 144, Kabul Zwanan vs Nangarhar Leopards, 9 October 2018 |
Zazai's 124 came with that 144-run stand alongside Ronchi. It was not a final innings: Kabul Zwanan's final two weeks later was 132 for 9, with Javed Ahmadi's 32 the best of a bad hour. The highest score and the title-deciding score are different animals, and Gayle's 56 off 34 won a chase. It does not outrank 124 on this list, and it does not need to. The full list sits on the highest-scores page.
Bowling records
The bowling list is short on purpose. Only one wicket total and one spell are quoted, because only those were confirmed on a scorecard this desk trusts.
| Record | Detail |
|---|---|
| Most wickets | Isuru Udana 17, Paktia Panthers |
| Best bowling in a match | Qais Ahmad 5/18 vs Kabul Zwanan, final, 21 October 2018 |
Seventeen wickets in a short tournament is a heavy month for a left-arm seamer, and Udana's Panthers still went out in the semi-final, bowled out for 102. Wayne Parnell's 3 for 35 in the final chase belongs to the losing side. It is context, not best figures. Udana's 17 wickets may include a better analysis than 5 for 18; if one turns up on a scorecard, this table grows. It does not grow from memory. The full lists sit on the most-wickets page and the best-bowling page.
Team records
| Record | Detail |
|---|---|
| Highest total | Balkh Legends 244/6 vs Kabul Zwanan, 14 October 2018 |
| Lowest total | Nangarhar Leopards 64 all out (13.1 overs) vs Balkh Legends, semi-final, 19 October 2018 |
| Most league wins | Balkh Legends, 6 of 8 league matches |
| Biggest win | 171 runs: Balkh Legends 235/5 vs Nangarhar Leopards 64, semi-final, 19 October 2018 |
The highest and lowest totals of 2018 were 180 runs apart. Both were set at the same ground, and the lowest came in a semi-final, which is why the 64 carries more weight than a league-stage collapse would. The venue is the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, where every 2018 match was played.

Records the 2026 season can change
None yet. The 2026 season starts on 27 December 2026 in the UAE, with five teams and 24 matches advertised. The first new entries land here once matches are played. Season totals (most runs, most wickets, highest total) are the marks a longer season tests first, because 2018 set them in one short month of cricket. Fixtures sit on the schedule page, the five squads on the teams page, and the running scores on the live-scores page.
What this page does not list
Fastest fifty, fastest hundred, and most sixes. They need a ball count the source set used for this site did not give. No verified six count was in that set, so the most-sixes table stays blank rather than estimated. You can be confident Zazai and Gayle cleared ropes in Sharjah. Confidence is not a number. A six is a counting stat. It needs a scorebook, not a vibe. When that book is the source, the column can be filled. The most-sixes page says the same.
Conclusion
The gap between 244 for 6 and 64 all out is the real record of that Sharjah month. Same ground, five days apart, in the second case a semi-final. Pitch notes that say “Sharjah favours batters” are writing about the 244 and ignoring the 64. The ground page keeps both.
That is the whole book for now: one champions' side, five run-scorers, one wicket-taker, and one spell in a final. December adds the next chapter, and this page will add it only when the scorecard exists. The full results sit on the results page, the season figures on the stats page, and the 2018 story on the seasons page.

Mohammad Shahzad, with 344 runs for Paktia Panthers in 2018. Hazratullah Zazai is second with 322, and Chris Gayle third with 315.
What is the highest team total in the APL?
Balkh Legends' 244 for 6 against Kabul Zwanan on 14 October 2018. Kabul Zwanan replied with 223 for 7, so the match aggregate of 467 is also the highest.
